Vision

In the wake of the deepening economic, social and environmental crises, everywhere grows the desire for profound change in our way of life. The Jai Jagat campaign ("the victory of the World") is working to achieve a benevolent World for the whole of the living, where "no one is left behind".

Missions

·         To promote Gandhi's main message, namely non-violence, as a global transformation strategy and a way of living together.

·         To make the Jai Jagat campaign, whose marches are an essential component, a tool for the convergence of the forces of change and individual, societal and institutional transformation.

·         To promote the knowledge and emancipation of women, young people and the poor as essential actors of this campaign.

·         To contribute to raising awareness on the global environmental, social and democratic challenges

·         To build on the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030) to fulfil these missions.

The campaign will include recommendations for a bottom-up policy at the local, regional and international levels on the following themes:

Jai jagat is an iconic global campaign towards justice and peace for the millions of people witnessing poverty, inequality and marginalization. Jai Jagat (in Hindi)  means 'victory to an inclusive and peaceful world' a message of Mahatma Gandhi which  inspire many mass movements globally. Its focus is to link Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th year anniversary with the United Nations message “No one left behind”. A campaign of this size is crucial if we are to upscale nonviolence and achieve a planetary peace, free of war and a climate crisis in the next generation.

The Jai Jagat is a long march in Gandhian style that begins on 2nd October 2019 from Delhi and arrives in Geneva one year later. The march will cover about 14 countries and approximately 10,000 kilometers. Enroute there will be dozens of meetings to see people’s aspirations and to explore what messages need to be brought to Geneva. As the long march arrives in Switzerland, there will be other marches from different quarters of Europe and North Africa that plan to converge in Geneva on the last week of September 2020. For eight days, there are many programs planned in Geneva to ensure that global financial trade and  UN leaders have heard the voices of the grassroots and the marginalized people.

On behalf of the Jai Jagat Indian and Global Team, we are requesting you to assist with a generous donation. To illustrate the costs of running this campaign, we have worked out a budget of Rs. 4.05 crores. This is based on a breakdown of all expected expenses like food, accommodation, health insurance, visa, and so forth. A scale has been provided for easy selection of payment to one or more marchers for set periods (Annex 1). The payment information of Ekta Foundation Trust is:

പദയാത്രാഗാന്ധി

'പദയാത്ര ഒരു സന്ദേശമാണ്. മണ്ണിനെ തൊട്ടുകൊണ്ടുള്ള സന്ദേശം. മനസ്സും ശരീരവും ഒരു താളത്തില്‍ ഒരു പ്രശ്‌നത്തോട് പ്രകോപനമേതുമില്ലാതെ ജൈവതാളം പോലെ പ്രതികരിക്കുകയാണ്. ഗാന്ധിജി നടത്തിയ യാത്രകള്‍ അങ്ങനെയാണ്. ആ യാത്രയെ അവഗണിക്കാന്‍ ഒരു പട്ടാളശക്തിക്കും ആവില്ല' 

പി.വി.രാജഗോപാല്‍ എന്ന കണ്ണൂര്‍ തില്ലങ്കേരി സ്വദേശിയെ ആദ്യമായി പദയാത്രാഗാന്ധി എന്നുവിളിച്ചത് ആരാണെന്നറിയില്ല. പക്ഷേ, ശരിക്കും അര്‍ഹമായ ഒരു പേരാണത്. ഇന്ത്യക്കകത്തും പുറത്തും പി.വി.രാജഗോപാല്‍ എന്ന ഗാന്ധിയന്‍ പദയാത്രാഗാന്ധി എന്നാണറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.
അടിച്ചമര്‍ത്തപ്പെട്ടവരുടെയും ഭൂമിയില്ലാത്തവരുടെയും പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ അധികാരകേന്ദ്രത്തിലെത്തിക്കാനും പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ പരിഹരിക്കാനുമുള്ള ഗാന്ധിയന്‍ രീതിയിലുള്ള പുതിയ സമരമായിരുന്നു പദയാത്ര. പതിനായിരക്കണക്കിനാള്‍ക്കാര്‍ ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ഒരുനേരത്തെ ഭക്ഷണംമാത്രം കഴിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് നടന്നുപോവുക. മാസങ്ങളോളം ചൂടും തണുപ്പും വകവെയ്ക്കാതെ അഭയാര്‍ത്ഥികളെപ്പോലെ  ഡല്‍ഹി ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി നടക്കുക. അത് വലിയ സന്ദേശമാണ്. അത്തരം യാത്രകളിലൂടെ ഗാന്ധി പീസ് ഫൗണ്ടേഷന്‍ നേതാവും ഏകതാപരിഷത്ത് സ്ഥാപകനേതാവുമായ പി.വി.രാജാേഗാപാല്‍ സമൂഹത്തിനു നല്‍കിയത് മഹത്തായൊരു സന്ദേശമായിരുന്നു.
ഈ വര്‍ഷത്തെ ഇന്ദിരാഗാന്ധി പുരസ്‌കാരം ഉത്തരേന്ത്യക്കാര്‍ക്ക് രാജാജിയും രാജുഭയ്യയും ഒക്കെയായ പി.വി.രാജഗോപാലിനെ തേടിയെത്തിയത് അര്‍ഹതയ്ക്കുള്ള അംഗീകാരംതന്നെയാണ്. കണ്ണൂര്‍ തില്ലങ്കേരി സ്വദേശിയാണ് രാജഗോപാലെന്ന് പലര്‍ക്കുമറിയില്ല. മധ്യപ്രദേശുകാര്‍ക്കുപോലും രാജഗോപാല്‍ മലയാളിയാണെന്നറിയില്ല. 22ാമത്തെ വയസ്സില്‍ ഗാന്ധിയന്‍ ചിന്തകള്‍ തലയ്ക്കുപിടിച്ച് തില്ലങ്കേരിവിട്ട അദ്ദേഹം നേരേ പോയത് മധ്യപ്രദേശിലെ ഗ്വാളിയോറിനു സമീപം  മൊറീന ജില്ലയിലേക്കാണ്. ചമ്പല്‍ കൊള്ളക്കാരുടെ ശല്യം ഏറെയുള്ളതാണ് ഗ്വാളിയോര്‍, മൊറീന, ശിവപുരി തുടങ്ങിയ ജില്ലകള്‍. തോക്കിന്‍മുനയില്‍ ജീവിതം ജീവിച്ചുതീര്‍ക്കുന്നവരാണ് ഇവിടത്തെ ഗ്രാമീണരെന്ന്് രാജഗോപാല്‍ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു. ഒന്നുകില്‍ കൊള്ളക്കാരുടെ തോക്ക്്്, അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ പോലീസുകാരുടെ തോക്ക് .രണ്ടും അപകടം തന്നെ.
അദ്ദേഹം അവിടെ  സ്വന്തമായി ആശ്രമം സ്ഥാപിച്ച് അപകടംപിടിച്ച സാമൂഹികപ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തിന് തുടക്കമിടുകയായിരുന്നു. എതിര്‍പ്പുകളുടെയും ഭീഷണികളുടെയും നിഴലിലായിരുന്നു പിന്നെ രാജഗോപാലിന്റെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം. കൊള്ളക്കാരുണ്ടാവുന്നത് സാമൂഹികവും സാമ്പത്തികവുമായ അസമത്വംമൂലമാണെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു. ഭൂമിയില്ലാത്ത പാവങ്ങള്‍ ആയുധവുമായി പിടിച്ചുപറിയിലേക്കു നീങ്ങിയാണ് പിന്നീട് ചമ്പല്‍താഴ്‌വരയിലെ ഭീകരരായ കൊള്ളക്കാരാവുന്നത്. കൊള്ളക്കാര്‍ക്കിടയിലും ജാതിയുടെ ഭീകരമായ ഉച്ചനീചത്വങ്ങള്‍ രാജഗോപാല്‍ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു. ഏകതാ പരിഷത്ത് എന്ന സംഘടനയ്ക്ക് രൂപംകൊടുത്തുകൊണ്ട് രാജഗോപാല്‍ തോക്കില്ലാതെതന്നെ, തോക്കുമായി ജീവിക്കുന്ന കൊള്ളക്കാര്‍ക്കരികിലെത്തി. അവരെ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുത്തി സാധാരണ വ്യക്തികളാക്കിമാറ്റുകയായിരുന്നു ലക്ഷ്യം. അതിവേഗം, സാധാരണക്കാരായ ഉത്തരേന്ത്യന്‍ ഗ്രാമീണരുടെ പ്രീതിപറ്റിയ ആ തില്ലങ്കേരിക്കാരന്‍ അവരിലൊരാളായി. പിന്നീട് സംഭവിച്ചതെല്ലാം അദ്ഭുതവേഗത്തിലായിരുന്നു.

പത്തുവര്‍ഷംമുന്പ് മധ്യപ്രദേശിലെ മൊറീനയില്‍വെച്ച്്് ഗ്രാമീണര്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ രാജഗോപിന്റെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം നേരിട്ടുകണ്ട അനുഭവമുണ്ട്. ചമ്പലില്‍ കീഴടങ്ങിയ കൊള്ളക്കാരെക്കുറിച്ച് എഴുതാനായി ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫര്‍ മധുരാജിനൊപ്പം ചമ്പലില്‍ പോയതായിരുന്നു. മെറീന ടൗണില്‍ ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് ഏകതാ പരിഷത്തിന്റെ ഒരു സമ്മേളനം നടക്കുന്നു. കത്തിക്കാളുന്ന വെയില്‍. ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് ഗ്രാമീണര്‍ രാജഗോപാലിന്റെ വരവ്്് കാത്തിരിക്കുകയാണ്. ഒക്കത്ത് കൈക്കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുമായി എത്രയോ സ്ത്രീകള്‍. പൊള്ളുന്ന വെയിലില്‍ സഹിക്കാനാവാതെ കുട്ടികള്‍ കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലും അമ്മമാരെ വിഷമിപ്പിച്ചില്ല. അവര്‍ക്ക് രാഷ്ട്രീയമൊന്നുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. കടുത്ത ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിലൂടെയാണ് അവരുടെ ഐക്യപ്പെടല്‍.
വേദിയിലെത്തിയ രാജഗോപാലിന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കുറച്ചുസമയംമാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു. നേരിട്ട് സംസാരിക്കാനാണ് ഏറെ സമയവും. പതിഞ്ഞ ശബ്ദത്തില്‍ നാടന്‍ ഹിന്ദിയില്‍ അദ്ദേഹം ഗ്രാമീണരെ തൊട്ടറിഞ്ഞു. ഒരു സന്ന്യാസിയെ തൊട്ടുവണങ്ങുന്നതുപോലെയും കാലില്‍ വീഴുന്നതുപോലെയും വല്ലാത്ത തിരക്കായി അവിടെ. മനംമാറിയ കൊള്ളക്കാര്‍ കപ്പടാമീശയും കൈയില്‍ പഴയ ഓര്‍മകളുടെ തെളിവായി ഇരട്ടബാരല്‍ തോക്കും പിടിച്ച് വേദിയിലുണ്ട്; നിറഞ്ഞ സംതൃപ്തിയില്‍. ഉത്തരേന്ത്യന്‍ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളില്‍ ഏകതാപരിഷത്തിനും രാജാജിക്കുമുള്ള വരവേല്‍പ്പ് എന്നും ഇങ്ങനെയാണ്.
പിന്നീട് വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ശേഷമാണ് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മൊത്തം, ഭൂമിയില്ലാത്ത സാധാരണക്കാര്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി ശബ്ദിക്കാന്‍ ഏകതാപരിഷത്തും രാജഗോപാലും ശ്രമിച്ചത്. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മിക്ക സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലും ഏകതാപരിഷത്ത് വലിയ ശക്തിയായി മാറി. ലോകം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ച പദയാത്രകള്‍ അങ്ങനെയാണുണ്ടായത്. ഭരണകൂടത്തിന്റെ മനസ്സുമാറ്റാന്‍ ഇത്തരം പദയാത്രകള്‍ക്കായി എന്നതാണു സത്യം.
ഏറ്റവുമൊടുവില്‍ 2012ല്‍ ഒരുലക്ഷംപേരാണ് ഗ്വാളിയോറില്‍നിന്നു ഡല്‍ഹിയിലേക്കുള്ള പദയാത്രയില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തത്. ഭൂമിതന്നെയായിരുന്നു വിഷയം. പക്ഷേ, യാത്ര ആഗ്രയിലെത്തുമ്പോള്‍ത്തന്നെ അധികാരികള്‍ അസ്വസ്ഥരായി. ഡല്‍ഹിയിലേക്കു വരുന്ന ഈ ലക്ഷംസേന പ്രശ്‌നമുണ്ടാക്കുമെന്നവര്‍ക്കറിയാമായിരുന്നു. ആഗ്രയില്‍വെച്ച് അന്നത്തെ കേന്ദ്രമന്ത്രി ജയറാം രമേശ് ചര്‍ച്ചയ്‌ക്കെത്തി. ലാന്‍ഡ് റിഫോം കൗണ്‍സിലുള്‍പ്പടെ അവരുന്നയിച്ച പല ആവശ്യങ്ങളും പരിഗണിക്കാമെന്ന വാഗ്ദാനംകിട്ടിയതിനാല്‍ പദയാത്ര നിര്‍ത്തുകയായിരുന്നു. ഈ യാത്രക്ക്് അഞ്ചുവര്‍ഷം മുമ്പ് 2007ല്‍ കാല്‍ലക്ഷം പേരെ പങ്കെടുപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്് ഗ്വാളിയോറില്‍നിന്ന് ഡല്‍ഹിയിലേക്ക് മറ്റൊരു പദയാത്ര അദ്ദേഹം നടത്തിയിരുന്നു.
രാജഗോപാലിന്റെ പദയാത്രകള്‍ക്ക് പ്രത്യേകതയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഭക്ഷണവും വെള്ളവും കരുതിക്കൊണ്ട് എല്ലാവരും ഒന്നിച്ചു നടക്കുകയാണ്. ജാതിമതഭേദമില്ലാതെ, സാമ്പത്തിക ഉച്ചനീചത്വമില്ലാതെ. അതു പിന്നീട് ഒരു ലഹരിപോലെ നാടേറ്റെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. എല്ലാ രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരും മതക്കാരും അതില്‍ ചേരും. ചിലസമയം മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിമാരും മന്ത്രിമാരും ചേരും. അതാണ് യാത്രകളുടെ പ്രത്യേകതകള്‍. യാത്രയില്‍ ചിലപ്പോള്‍ ആളുകള്‍ വീണുമരിച്ചെന്നുവരും. എന്നാലും യാത്രതുടരും. അധികാരികള്‍ക്ക് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അവഗണിക്കാനാകില്ല.
രാജഗോപാല്‍ ഒരിക്കല്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: ''പദയാത്ര ഒരു സന്ദേശമാണ്. മണ്ണിനെ തൊട്ടുകൊണ്ടുള്ള സന്ദേശം. മനസ്സും ശരീരവും ഒരു താളത്തില്‍ ഒരു പ്രശ്‌നത്തോട് പ്രകോപനമേതുമില്ലാതെ ജൈവതാളം പോലെ പ്രതികരിക്കുകയാണ്. ഗാന്ധിജി നടത്തിയ യാത്രകള്‍ അങ്ങനെയാണ്. ആ യാത്രയെ അവഗണിക്കാന്‍ ഒരു പട്ടാളശക്തിക്കും ആവില്ല.''
ഏകതാ പരിഷത്ത് ഇന്ത്യക്കു പുറത്തും സജീവമാണ്. വിവിധ രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ യൂണിറ്റുണ്ട്. ഭൂമിയില്ലാത്തവരുടെയും അഭയാര്‍ഥികളുടെയും പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ എവിടെയുമുണ്ട്്്. എല്ലാ ദുഃഖവും ലോകത്തിന്റെ മൊത്തമാണ് അദ്ദേഹം പറയുന്നു.
ആയുധംകൊണ്ടല്ല, മനസ്സുകൊണ്ടാണ് മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഹിംസകളെ കീഴടക്കേണ്ടത്. ജീവിക്കാനുള്ള അവസരം നഷ്ടപ്പെടുമ്പോഴാണ് മനുഷ്യന്‍ അക്രമത്തെ വരിക്കുന്നത്. അതിന്റെ ഉദാഹരണമാണ് കീഴടങ്ങുന്ന കൊള്ളക്കാര്‍. ചമ്പല്‍ താഴ്‌വരയില്‍ രാജാജി ജനങ്ങളുടെ രാജുഭയ്യയായി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത് തോക്കു കൊണ്ടുനടന്നവരെ വാക്കുകൊണ്ടു  കീഴ്‌പ്പെടുത്തിയതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെയാണ്.
കേന്ദ്രസംസ്ഥാനസര്‍ക്കാറുകള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ ഈ മെലിഞ്ഞ മനുഷ്യന് വലിയ സ്വാധീനമുണ്ട്. മധ്യപ്രദേശില്‍ വേണമെങ്കില്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പില്‍ മത്സരിച്ച് ലോക്‌സഭയിലേക്കുപോലും പോകാമായിരുന്നു. അത്തരം ക്ഷണം ലഭിച്ചതുമാണ്. പക്ഷേ, പദയാത്രയോളം ജനങ്ങളെ അടുത്തറിയാന്‍കഴിയുന്ന മറ്റൊരു വേദിയില്ലെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. നല്ല അധ്യാപകനുംകൂടിയാണ് രാജഗോപാല്‍. ചെറുപ്പത്തിലേ കഥകളിപഠിച്ചു അദ്ദേഹം. അടുത്തിടെ തില്ലങ്കേരിയിലെ വീട്ടില്‍ എത്തിയിരുന്നു. കേരളത്തിലും ഏകതാപരിഷത്തിന്റെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം സജീവമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്്്. പക്ഷേ, ഉത്തരേന്ത്യന്‍ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിലെ ദയനീയസ്ഥിതി ഒരിക്കലും കേരളത്തിലില്ലെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറയുന്നു.
ഇന്ത്യക്കു പുറത്ത് വിവിധ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ സാമൂഹികപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളുമായി സഹകരിച്ചുപോകുന്നു. സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യസമര സേനാനിയായിരുന്ന കാടാച്ചിറയിലെ പരേതനായ ചാത്തുക്കുട്ടി നമ്പ്യാരുടെയും തില്ലങ്കേരി ഇരട്ടഞാലില്‍ വീട്ടില്‍ മാധവിയമ്മയുടെയും മകനാണ്. തന്റെ സാമൂഹികപ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തില്‍ ആകൃഷ്ടയായെത്തിയ ജില്‍കാര്‍ ഹാരീസ് എന്ന വിദേശവനിതയെയാണ് അദ്ദേഹം വിവാഹംചെയ്തത്.

The 29^th Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration for the year 2013 & 2014 has been awarded to Shri Rajagopal PV, "Founder of Ekta Parishad" for his services in promoting and preserving National Integration in the country.
 This Award consist of a Citation and cash of Rs. 10.00 lakh to be given to Awardee by the Chairperson, Hon’ble Smt.
